School Profile

The School is a Voluntary-Aided state sector school - not a private school - which means that there are no school tuition fees. The School will open one year at a time, beginning with a Nursery class. It will add 30 pupils per year until year 2016, when it will have 236 primary school pupils including Nursery.

Currently the school has Nursery Class with 26 pupils, Reception class with 30 pupils, Year 1 with 30 pupils and Year 2 with 30 pupils. A total of 116 pupil attend Krishna-Avanti during 2010-2011 academic year.

The School is promoted by an independent charity, I-Foundation (www.i-foundation.org) whose aim is to promote sustainable projects that are based on Hindu culture and philosophy and integrated within the local community.

The School works with ISKCON UK as the official faith partner. The role of the faith advisor is to provide advice to the School on aspects of how the Hindu faith can be integrated and taught within the School. The suggestions of the faith advisor are not binding on the School – the governing body will be the final decision making power.
