Special features or techniques used?

  1. Over 45 varieties of vegetables grown in all, according to various seasons
  2. Entire farming done using native seed varieties.
  3. Many organic pesticides and fertilizers are made in house using cow urine and other natural extracts
  4. Major focus on rice cultivation and preservation of rare varieties. Last year around 52 rare varieties were cultivated and a seed bank created in collaboration with BIAF, a non-profit organization working in organic farming
  5. GEV is working on reviving some ancient techniques like Vedic rainfall prediction and lunar based vegetable plantation etc.
  6. GEV, in collaboration with BIAF, is actively engaging in researching best agricultural practices for rural India. GEV is also researching in cultivating best varieties of rice for the local climatic region.
  7. GEV has also conducted training seminars for rural farmers where in notable farmers and agricultural professors have elaborated the benefits of organic farming and protection of rare herbal plants, which are a part of the depleting biodiversity of this region.
  8. Environmental protection groups working in this region have appreciated the good working done by us and have cited GEV as a model farm community for sustainable development.
