Iskcon chowpatty devotees engage in distributing Srila Prabhupad's books and they adopts different methods.
Marathon
One of the ways in which devotees engage themselves in distributing Srila Prabhupada's Books is through the event of Book Marathon which is celeberated on account of Gita Jayanti which every year falls in the month of december and therefore whole month of December is celeberated by ISKCON devotees by distributing Books written by Srila Prabhupada.
Below are some steps carried out for organizing this event by ISKCON Chowpatty
Permission for book tables
Approach company management for getting permissions. You can carry some appreciation letters and Prasad while meeting the officials. In case you have an acquaintance in the company then the procedures become simpler, else try and get in touch with the top officials of the company.

Awareness programs for devotees
Before the Marathon begins we have seminars on book distribution, Sastra daan scheme etc to inspire the community to enthusiastically participate in Marathon. Wherever possible senior leaders of the community participate in the Marathon and set an example for others. Apart from the temple such seminars are also conducted in local congregations in the city.
